RoomMates RMK1141SCS Celestial Glow in the Dark Peel & Stick Wall Decals

RoomMates RMK1141SCS Celestial Glow in the Dark Peel & Stick Wall DecalsI bought two packs of these for my son's room. We are military and live in on base housing so I really don't want to paint. These were perfect decorations to help make my son's room his own. We spent an afternoon decorating his walls with every single last sticker. Now my 4 year old who is terrified of the dark insists on sleeping in the pitch black so that he can "sleep in space" and see his stars. Not only do the stickers look cute on the walls during the daylight hours, but they helped my son turn off his nightlight. I'd buy these again 100 times over. Well done!

Powerful glow, pretty good adhesive, even on textured walls. Doesn't need much light for a glow that lasts at least 15 min. Includes some HUGE planet, star, and comet shapes in a generous assortment of stickers overall.

Great decoration for Kid's room! Look best with painted walls that are not white. The decal stays on the wall.

I painted my children's bedroom a beautiful blue color (see my customer photo) prior to finding these stars and painted clouds on the walls. I wanted to paint stars but didn't really have time (and read that most glow in the dark paint doesn't really show up) so I looked all over for an alternative. From experience, I know that the plastic stars don't look very good and end up falling down one by one over time. I ended up checking Target's decal area and found these, which appeared to be a perfect match to the color of my children's bedroom walls. They were cheap, so I bought them and put them on the ceiling and walls. The blue color blended into the walls and made the stars look as though they were painted on. I love that they are stickers and how well they stick! At night, when the lights are off, the stars look amazing! The star shaped stickers glow in the shape of a circle so they are more realistic looking, as well.

Keep in mind, these stars must be "charged" with light so that they glow. If you have the lights off all day and the curtains closed, you will not get a good glow at night (if at all). You might want to get a black light if you want them to glow without being charged by light. The stars/planets/moons come on 4 sheets and have varying sizes. Some of the items are big (bordering huge) and the planet and shooting star stickers are a little outrageous but most are small like normal glow in the dark star sets. My kids have a pretty big room and I had more than enough stars for the entire ceiling and the top 1/3 of the walls (I painted on clouds and did not put stars in those areas). I have moved some of the stars I previously placed and the moved stickers stick just as good as the first time I placed them, which is impressive. They do not damage paint.

Pros:

Strong glow

Strong hold

Thin stickers, which can achieve a painted on look if your walls are blue

Varying sizes

Glow is circular shaped on most like real stars

Great value 4 big pages of stickers

You can remove them without damaging the walls (and restick them)

Easy for kids to apply

Cons:

Bigger stickers are less realistic (Planet, shooting star, etc) but there aren't many of them

We co-sleep with the baby's crib in our room. I'm very sensitive to light when I'm trying to sleep, and as it turns out, so is our kid. Just a few minutes of bright light and before bed and these make the ceiling light up with a lovely, soft glow that lasts about 15 minutes. I put the half moon around our bubble ceiling light so it looks like an eclipse. So fun! You can get really creative or just random and the effect is lovely. Some of the stickers are hard to remove from the paper backing, but they're stickers, that happens. So far nothing has come un-stuck and the few we've moved to change the design are still up as well. And who knew Saturn got so many more moons since I've been in school. I may have to order more of these!
