I really like this coffee table. It looks in real life almost exactly as pictured... it's made of solid wood. Not particle board, or plywood with a veneer, but very solid pieces of wood with a great finish. The table has heft to it, and is quite sturdy. I'm surprised that furniture like this is available so cheaply over the internet.
Before purchasing this, I looked around several furniture stores, ranging from very high-end places to IKEA. Unfortunately, not too many people carry these sorts of wooden, classic designs for a good price. Either they are ultra-modern with glass (which I don't like), attempt to look like this table but are made out of crap materials, or in fact made out of wood and look like this but are ridiculously priced.
The table is fairly easy to assemble as well. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought this coffee table and a complimentary end table. I'm fairly happy with it. For apartment living it gives me some additional storage space for remotes and other odds and ends. Likewise there is space underneath to put other items... when I figure what goes underneath it... I will eventually get a box for the end table to store Wii controllers. I'll certainly let others judge how this item fits within their space. Assembly was reasonable although not the best that I've seen of the items I have had to assemble to this point.Want Coffee Table with Storage Drawers in Walnut Finish Discount?
Before I go into details, I'd like to say I am very impressed with this item so far. I've had it for a few days now and, overall, it looks great and seems sturdy. The drawers and the lower shelf are useful features that increase the storage space without adding to the footprint. The top is a smooth, flat surface without any major flaws (though there is a strange, dark, 'C'-shaped mark on mine... I'm sure everyone checking out the table is going to rub at it attempting to figure out what it is or trying to clean it off). Now for the details.
The packaging prevented any damage to the item but was daunting to open, lacking any flaps to pull apart. Not wanting to scratch the contents, I didn't use a knife. I wound up ripping it apart starting from an existing tear probably made from shipping. Inside, the packing material looked like liquid styrofoam had been sprayed and solidified all over the thin wrapping protecting the bulk of the table. I had never seen anything like this before but, at the end of the day, this didn't affect my overall satisfaction with the table itself.
The assembly was easy. The table was mostly complete, with assembly required for only the legs and the bottom shelf. It was the quickest piece of furniture I'd ever had to put together, actually, so I was happy to have my table nearly ready to use out of the box. Plus, I didn't have to deal with any cam screws (I guess I'm old fashioned, but I prefer the real deal of "true" screws). Though for anyone who prefers that the assembly requires only the hardware provided, this does mean you'll need a power tool to complete this.
The bottoms of the drawers are thin, which seems to be the trend for furniture offered online. This should be fine for the coffee table's purpose, though, but I would've preferred that the drawer bottom be at least an 1/8 of an inch thicker. (I've had a bad experience with a dresser's posterboard drawers bucking under the weight of their contents, but, then again, a coffee table isn't expected to contain as much stuff).
Despite the small flaws, I'm giving this 5 stars. It does what a coffee table needs to do and goes a little further with the drawers and shelf, so it has a great value for its price.
