Fashion Bed Group Kaitlyn Bed

I got this bed for my 3 year old daughter. It is a very solid, pretty bed, but the headboard would have been too high as is. It is made to fit a twin bedspring and mattress, but I wanted to use a hard futon mattress. This meant I couldn't use the metal posts for the headboard. I kind of had to jerryrig the connection so that the headboard wouldn't be too high and it works quite well. I also went to the lumber store to get some poplar planks to support the futon mattress. This was my own preference, to have a cute bed frame, that was quality, not plastic and was low enough for a 3 year old. I made it work, but there might be easier options out there. My daughter was so happy and immediately said, "not too high", which I guess had been her biggest concern.
