HON 919492 Double Cross Rails for 42" Wide Lateral Files, Gray

I bought these (two sets) so I could set up front to back filing in a used 42" Hon two-drawer lateral file cabinet. Yes, they are expensive for essentially pieces of metal, but much easier and nicer than trying to make something. And in the 42" cabinet, it's perfect for three rows of front to back filing without any wasted space.

Cross rails do just what they say. You need to have files on both sides of the rails or they tend to tip and need to be tipped back. I have not had any files fall off ... but they might.

They work but are a bit pricey it seems.
