Coaster Fine Furniture 460273 Convertible Loft Bed, Twin, White Finish

I just constructed this bed two days ago and I want to add my experience to the mix of reviews. First of all, the bed came in four boxes and it was packaged carefully to help prevent damage. I unpacked everything and inventoried and sorted the parts and I found nothing missing. Each piece of wood had a letter sticker for ID. This took about 30-45 minutes, but was worth it for peace of mind and to speed construction.

I was impressed with the quality of the wood and the hardware. About 90% of the construction is achieved with the included allen wrench and a Phillips-head screwdriver. I had no trouble lining up the parts and everything fit together the first time. The process of actually attaching everything lasted about 2 hours. I was being slow and methodical. There is only one part of the process that requires two people: lifting the bed component onto the bottom part (you build the upper and bottom parts separately).

If you include clean up time, I took about three hours to create this bed.

It is a beautiful bed and my daughter is very pleased with it. It feels very substantial, and best of all: it can be taken apart for transport when she heads off to college.

If it is helpful to know, I have put together various kinds of purchased furniture before and so I would call myself better than average in the experience department. Yet nothing in the construction process seemed to be difficult. The best advice in building this is to simply take your time.

No comments on shipping or customer service as I had no problems.

My bed was shipped as promised. I hired someone to come put it together for me because it came in 4 big boxes. One board was warped right off the bat but we kept going. He got the bottom bunk together fine. On the top bunk he had issues getting the boards to line up. The boards were not the same length. When we went to put the top bunk on the posts did not match up. He spent a couple of hours putting a bed together and my daughter still did not have a bed. We did not want to take it down until we knew what to do. That was on 1/21/12. I tried contacting Visiondecor or Monday 1/23/12. Could not get through to a live person and the automated said I have to send an email. I did that. I got an email back 2 days later saying they would send replacement parts but need all the details. I sent another email telling what I need but I wanted to speak to a person. 2 days later I got another email that he tried to call but will call me back. Never heard from him again. I was FINALLY able to get a live person on 2/2/12. I am sending the stupid bed back. My daughter has been sleeping with me all this time because she does not have a functional bed in her room right now.

I would not recommend this company because their customer service response time is horrible. I has taken me almost 2 weeks to get in touch with a live person!!!!

This bed is simply wonderful and is perfect for my daugter's room. It is truly unique and we get nothing but compliments. It was a bit difficult to put together as some of the holes weren't drilled, but all in all great product.

I do need to say that the seller should not claim 5 day delivery. It is misleading as this bed first has to get to their shippers distribution center and then the shipper schedules an appointment with you. And the appointment can only be between 12-4pm during the week.

I made a complaint regading this and VisionDecor contacted me within 2 days of my issue. They gave me a full refund of my shipping costs and indicated that they just started working with this shpper and are working out some kinks in delivery scheduling.

My daughter is 6. She loves this bed and the table. She spend more time in her room now. Her friend said "wow" when they saw her new bed... The sofas are really comfortable for kids and adults.

This is a solid piece of furniture that turned my almost 6-year old's room into a real hangout for him. The seating area under the loft is great for kids and adults, the table is large enough and sturdy enough to be used as a nice activity/games/art space, and the seats convert easily enough into a second bed for guests that is actually fairly comfortable (I slept on it last night, in fact, to test it out). Couldn't be happier with this purchase...once it was put together. Unfortunately, the assembly instructions are too general, and the manufacturer mixed up the stickers identifying several of the pieces resulting in us making two frustrating false starts. On top of that some of the provided screws were broken sending us to the hardware store for replacements. Would have given 5 stars but for the assembly problems, which easily could have been avoided with better instructions and correctly identified pieces. Nonetheless, I would recommend this loft to others who have some patience and several sets of hands to put it together.
