Serta Pinehurst Duct Cotton Futon Mattress

I just received this futon today, so do not have extensive information to report. The stitching seems sturdy, the fabric is nice basic cotton, and it is lightweight enough to be easily manuverable. I hauled it up three flights of stairs on my own in about a minute with no trouble. It is not as firm as I would really like in a futon, however no doubt the fill inside will compress with time. I have it on a full size platform bedframe temporarily as guests are coming, but will be using it with a futon couch frame in the future. It is better suited to being used as part of a couch rather than as a mattress as it is a little bit shorter than a true full mattress. I am 5'8", and ideally wouldn't recommend it for someone over 6' as they might hang off of it a bit while sleeping. The construction seems really reasonably good. I wish it came with a removable washable cover. It's a good deal. :-)

We purchased this mattress because all of my family would be at our home for christmas, and my sister was pregnant, so I wanted something comfortable for her to sleep on. She said that it was super comfortable, and since then we have used it 4 times. Everyone loves it. It isn't too heavy, my husband is able to roll it up and store it by himself without much help from me.

As another reviewer noted, the mattress is short--the full-size one I just received measures 67" in length, not the 72" standard full-size. It did not work at all on a futon couch frame that folds lengthwise, i.e., the width of the couch is 72," but is ok on a full-size frame whose width is 52" with a somewhat adjustable foldout length. I'd have returned it except that I just took it via boat, dinghy, and climb up a cliff to a remote cabin . . .
