Lift Top Storage Bench

I was hard pressed to find a leather-like ottoman of a decent length without spending a fortune. This fit the bill! The material and stitching are good quality upon arrival, and the legs were extremely easy to attach. The hinges lock into place when opened, which is a nice feature for our young children. I even stuck my finger in the crack on the side where the hinges are, shut the lid, and did not get a bad finger smash! (I know, crazy mother testing all situations). I wish the ottoman was a little wider, but I knew that when I ordered it. It looks great in our family room and wil hold many toys and blankets over the years!!

We bought this ottoman after doing a lot of research and every reasonably-priced one we found seemed cheaply made. But this one is beautiful! We are thrilled with our purchase and our 10-month old son loves it too. We use it as a toy box, ottoman and coffee table, putting a wooden try on it when company comes over for plates or glasses.

We store our son's toys in it, and it's deep enough to hold a lot of them! The top will stay up so his fingers don't get caught or slammed while he's pulling out his toys. I love that I can just throw the scattered toys in it in 2 seconds, close the lid and the living room looks great again!

Also, as an ottoman, it's wonderful. The material is great quality and goes back into shape after resting your feet... so no permanent indents. Haven't tried sitting on it yet, but I think it would be fine. I will say that the color was darker than I'd expected. It is a very very dark brown, almost black. Very easy to put together, great looking piece, highly recommended!

The storage chest looks great. The legs were easy to attach. The leather look is very real. The top stays open which is a plus.

This looked nice when I first put it together, but after only about a year of use, the polyurethane coating on the bicast leather began to peel off, littering little brown flakes all over my living room. Now it's ugly and making a mess. If you need an ottoman that will last more than a year, don't buy this one.

I was looking for a non-ugly container for the mountains of baby toys taking over my living room that could possibly be used after my baby grows up. This ottoman was perfect to hold everything. The hinge holds the lid up if you open it enough, meaning that there's little potential for slamming on baby's fingers. The top and sides are soft and padded, so I don't have to worry about my little one knocking his teeth out on a hard coffee table. It is sturdy enough for me to sit on.

The only downsides are that the top isn't flat (there's a slight curve as would be expected with any upholstered item) and there was a strong vinyl-y smell which went away after a few days of airing out.
