The desk looks very nice and it was easy to assemble. It came in two boxes: one containing the desk, and one containing the hutch. The only assembly needed was to screw the legs to the tabletop. The wide drawers are pretty shallow, so don't plan on putting a lot of things in them. The small drawers have no safety stop, so you have to be careful about not pulling them all the way out. Still, the desk is very nice and I'm happy with my purchase.
I just purchased this small writing desk, and I must say, it was well worth the money. Quite a bargain in fact. The color is as others have mentioned, somewhat darker than pictured. Much closer to a cherry finish than oak. Very well packed, and easy to assemble. The only issue I had is that the back cover of the hutch does not go down all the way flush to the top surface of the desk. There is about 1/4" opening. The hutch actually just sits on the top and has not screws or anything that secures it. I think its weight keeps it from moving around. The drawers work well but the two small drawers on the hutch pull out without any stops. Not really a big issue to me. I would definitely recommend this to other buyers.
