I just love this clock! It is so pretty and looks just right in my room. It is a very basic type of alarm clock, you only get one alarm and you have to remember to turn it on every night but that is not a problem for me. The sound of the alarm is similar to the type of old fashioned alarm clock with the metal bells on top except that it is not as shrill. I find it is just right, annoying enough that I can't ignore it but not harsh. It is made of metal and is nice and heavy so it doesn't tip over when I groggily reach for it to turn the alarm off in the morning. I can't think of any cons to this clock, if you are looking for a very simple and beautiful bedside clock this one fits the bill. I am so glad I got it, there were a few negative reviews so I was hesitant but I have been completely happy with it.

Great for display but not for your everyday alarm clock. Hands are too dim to use for night and the alarm has a very annoying sound (maybe this is good for some). The ticking is not too loud and it doesn't go through batteries too quickly. IT is hard to set the alarm at an exact time so as long as you are ok with a general time you will be fine. The base does mark table surfaces that are not protected.

This is a large clock for a bedside clock. It is about 6 inches tall and nearly that wide which can be great if that's what you're looking for. The clock is metal, so therefore heavy. It's easy to change the battery, just twist the entire back off, change battery, abd twist back on again. The antiqued finish has rather evenly distributed spots and bumps, so it's not very realistic looking up close. Not bad, just not great. The clock is not greenish, as the photo indicates. It's antique white. The luminious dial does not stay bright all night. By 3 a.m.you'll have to guess what time it is! Clock is not your usual alarm clock style. It matches my decorating scheme (early attic) and, overall, I'm pleased with the clock.

I think the vintage look to it is stunning. I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing this particular item and read that the clock face looked very cheap. I guess it could be interpreted that way? but it still looks beautiful to me. Thrifty, maybe, but if you think about, thrift shop items are often old and used, which is what this design is aiming for, isn't it?

The clock is made of a kind of metal, which is a little loose as far as the backing goes, so you have to be gentle with it. I also read complaints about how loud this clock is, and yes, it is extremely loud, but as an extremely deep sleeper, it has worked wonders for me, and the sound hasn't traveled far enough to wake other people in the house who live in the rooms across from me, SO if you're a deep sleeper, this is highly recommended. Light sleeper, then yes, this could be quite annoying and terrifying to wake up to very shrill sound, but it's an alarm clock! It MAKES you get up, that's what it's for. So, really, great as an alarm clock. I don't see why everyone's complaining about the volume. Do you want to get up or not? Haha, I jest -it really is a shrill sound.

But again, as a deep sleeper, it's an excellent alarm clock and wakes me up fairly quickly, compared to other alarm clocks I've tried that I just tend to sleep right through. Definitely recommend this. Just be careful with the metal backing, and you're good!

I was surprised to see how large the clock really is. Needs a big night stand or surface to display, so it doesn't dwarf other decorative items. What is strange is the face of the clock tilts forward and downward, which is difficult to read when standing up. Lying down and viewing the clock isn't a problem. I'm returning due to size and the odd position of the clock on the base.
