It is sturdy. The Walnut looks good with my Cherry furniture which I was concerned about. It advertises holding 9 pair of shoes, but I can fit 12 pair of ladies size 7 in it. Mine tips fowards when the drawer is opened. It is not ideal, but I do not think it will cause any problems.
