Monterey 2 Drawer Night Stand

Purchased this for our 3 year old son. I am pleased overall with this piece. It arrived in great condition, and had all the pieces. Assembly took about 45 minutes, and the directions were easy to follow. The color is great, and it does look very nice in his room. My only dissatisfaction is with the way that it is put together. There are exposed screws on the sides that you conceal with plastic screw covers. Personally I dislike them. I know the manufacturer could assemble this w/o having any exposed screws.

From reading the reviews it seems a lot of folks bought this for their kids. I guess that should've been a warning before buying for an adult. Assembly took a joyless hour. The screws are covered with plastic caps that give it a cheap look. The drawers are flimsy. After a year of use, the inevitable dings look pretty bad because the item is not solid wood it's composite wood covered with a cherry or white plastic coating. I can understand a positive review for a kid's room. For an adult, not so much.

It takes about 45-60mins to put it together its not hard, just that there are a lot of little pieces and screws. Instructions are very clear, but could have been designed better (fewer types of screws, with no awkward balancing to do). If you're using an automatic screw-driver, make sure the torque is set very low, coz some pieces of wood are soft, and high-power can ruin the screw holes. Enough complaining its worthwhile noting that its a one time effort to put it together. After that, its a very convenient side table. Solid construction overall, and the open/close drawer combination is very useful

I needed a taller night stand because of my tall-ish bed; I looked around and didn't find a lot of night stands that suited what I needed. This one looked good, and I don't have a big budget, so I went with this, took a bit of a risk by ordering it online before I could physically see it (which is what I typically prefer).

It took about an hour to put together, and believe me if I can put something like this together on my own, ANYONE can. You just need a screwdriver and a hammer, and you're good to go.

I see other reviews about the material being cheap, and while I am completely aware that it's not "real" wood, it's sturdy. I can't afford a $400 night stand, and don't have time to go from thrift store to thrift store looking for a taller than normal night stand. So, this is perfect for my needs! I love it, and I'm going to budget to get another one to have a set.

Nice table and will function quite well in our daughter's bedroom. Only complaint is that there were two screws missing for the drawers slides. Fortunately, my husband is a scavenger and had two spare screws that were similar from soomething he tore apart and threw away.
