Fantasy Palace 4-Poster Bed Canopy

After putting this "Palace" Casablanca Sheer Bed Canopy/Sheer Mosquito Netting up over my bed, my Princess Sasha cat thought this made a very nice tent and promptly took her place under the canopy and thought I had put this netting up just for her. Well, all was good and fine until she decided to see what it tasted like and was chewing on one corner.

Fortunately, she learns fast and it only took me saying "no" twice for her to realize this was not a product she should be chewing on. If you have small kittens, this might be a problem to consider. There are ways to arrange the netting so it is far above the ground. In fact, I seem to adjust this entire setup daily to suit my mood.

Sometimes I have all the eight panels tied up around the bed like a four-poster bed and then at other times I get creative and pull the end four panels together, twirl them and fold them up over the top. This creates an interesting effect and it looks like a palace bed. Then, there are times when I want to feel like I'm living in some romantic location on the globe and I let all the sheer panels float about the bed. It creates a very romantic environment and I like how the sheer netting can create exotic moods.

I have been very happy with this purchase and it only took about 10 minutes to install. You simply screw in the four hooks provided with the product. Then, you unfold the netting and hook it up on the ceiling.

4 plastic anchors (If you need them before you install the screw hooks I don't think you will need them for most ceilings. They say some ceilings may need an anchor and you can use a drill bit or nails to make a hole in the ceiling and then insert the anchors.)

This product is machine washable and it hangs to dry. I'd use a very gentle cycle. It is 100% polyester and can fit any bed up to a king size bed. Look for this product in white, ecru, sage, peace or lilac.

They don't provide air conditioning or window screens here and I am not going through summer with the windows closed. So I bought 2 of these in white; one for my queen size bed and one for my daughter's twin size bed. They are great!

I did find that because these are made for king size beds, they gapped at the ends where the fabric drooped. I solved the problem with my daughter's by taking the excess tie length and tying it between the hooks at each end. Then I took a white plastic clothes pin and pinned the end seams to the ties. It not only closed the gaps but raised the top of the canopy a little more away from the bed.

The gaps at the ends of my bed are much narrower so I just pull them closed and tuck the edge of the netting under my matteress.

I recently received my order for the Casablanca Palace Four Poster Bed Canopy and I got it in the shade of Ecru. I have a king size bed with four posters and the rungs across the top of the canopy frame and this Palace canopy is perfect for the bed. I just put each of the 4 loops under the bedpost knob at the top of the canopy post and it reaches great. I love the way it looks and you can have it all the way down or have it twisted or tied up. There's endless possiblities with how you want it to look. I love how the fabric is very light and meshy so that it still lets light through it and doesn't darken the room. I was afraid that it would make our room dark having a canopy curtain but it's perfect. I can see how it would be too much for a twin or double bed because it fits our king bed perfectly and the fabric even touches the ground when it's all the way down and our bed is very high up and the canopy frame is super tall (about 87 inches tall). Long story short, great product great price and it looks absoluetely beautiful on my bed!

I read through all of the reviews of this product first, before purchasing it, and when I received the item, I took all of the other buyers problems into consideration--I disagree with a lot of them. First of all, this is basically like a one size fits all kind of product. You can readjust the loops and just hang the actual fabric itself from the hooks and then pin it up in the middle of all four sides and voila, it fits perfect to your bed. I even have a sloped ceiling, and it still works perfect for me and looks cute as well. I'd also like to note, that it doesn't say that it's made out of mosquito netting. It just says it's functional for small insects and it seems to do the job just fine for me.

This product also helps me feel very relaxed. I love going to bed underneath it and waking up there as well. It's a very modern decoration and makes my room feel larger to me, which is a major plus, considering my bedroom is small. The only downfall I found with this item is that it attracts kittens. I have two cats who are kept in my room when I'm not home, and they like to pull it down and climb up it, but although they do this almost everyday, they have only inflicted two tiny wholes in the fabric.

All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase. I recommend it to any others considering buying it, it is definitely worth the $30, especially considering the price of most other 4 post canopy's.
