I shopped all over in stores for a bed like this but were out of the price range I was looking for. Ordered on line for almost half the cost. Yes, you have to assemble it but, when it is put together, it is awesome!

This was easy to assemble after putting together the bed and matching dresser.

Looks great and definitely recommended to go with the bed. Note It does not attach to the bed, is free standing.

I got this for use with the South Shore Furniture Cosmos Collection Twin Mates Bed, Black Onyx and Charcoal and it works pretty well. If you can, I would recommend just leaning it against a wall instead of relying on the screws (I didn't even screw mine in). But it's a wonderful place for me to put my wallet, cell phone, and other items after a long day. I also like how there are holes for cords, so my cell phone can charge right there.

I love it! The perfect size for my daughter's room with storage! The only 1 negative is that there were so many pieces, that if I didn't have my husband and son, I wouldn't be able to put the bed together.

I love my bookcase headboard. I needed a place for a reading lamp, books, glasses, etc. and this was perfect. I am a collage student and my room is smallish, and I do most of my studies/work on my bed. This is great for that purpose. The shelves are deep, and it is sturdy enough that I don't feel like I am going to break it if I flop on my bed. The top shelf is about half as deep as the bottom shelf, but still plenty big enough to hold a small lamp and DVD cases. I shopped around for a while looking at bookshelf headboards, and this is definitely the best deal for the price. Just make sure you are fine with and able to put it together. That was the only thing I didn't like because it took a while and with my small floor space I was fighting with it for about an hour before I could get it on my bed. I have just a mattress and box spring, and it fits fine. It is a little higher than my mattress sits, but with a couple of pillows and shams it looks great. I highly recommend this for the avid reader or anyone who does work/study/hobby on their bed. I also keep my iPod dock/alarm clock on this. There are 2 cut outs on the bottom shelf for cords to go through.
