Ballet Class Twin Quilt with Pillow Sham

My 4-year-old daughter has always loved princesses, ballerinas, fairies and anything pink. When I transitioned her from a crib to a big girl bed, I really wanted to find bedding that was representative of her interests. This is a quality quilt that looks great in my daughter's pink room. I purchased the Pem American Ballet Class quilt because it features several dancing ballerinas, the quilt is reversible to a pink/white gingham check and has plenty of pink on both sides (which my daughter loves).

I was really happy to find that this quilt featured African-American ballerinas because many other princess or ballerina-themed home decor items leave out people of color. I want my daughter to see representations of women who look like her so she can continue to "dream her ballerina dreams". I had previously tried to find multicultural ballerina-themed home decor but couldn't find any. I'm so glad I was able to find this quilt set here -and at a reasonable price to boot. I was really excited when I stumbled across this quilt. I love the traditional look of a quilt. I love the design as well as the coloring, not so pink. It looked really beautiful online, but when it arrived, I was not happy. The quality left a little to be desired. The stitching was frayed and lint balls had already began forming. Not sure how that would happen given it is supposed to be NEW. In addition, there were hanging threads. I guess I was expecting more that a quilt has to offer. However, I put the quilt on my granddaughter's bed and it did offer the ambiance I was looking for (with a little tlc which I gave it). I wanted a them for her room that symbolizes "artistic freedom". My theme was princess butterfly. Didn't want the traditional princess and I thought what better way to exude free movement than that of a Ballerina (who very well resembles a princess).

I won't say whether i would recommend this item or not. Everyone's expectation is different. So I would say, if interested then go for it. If not happy with item once received, return it.

The quilt was a great addition to my daughter's ballerina themed bedroom. I love the material and I even washed it in my washing machine and hung it to dry.
