This is in fact a photo of the interior of the former home of the renowned textile designers, D.D. and Leslie Tillett, at 170 east 80th street, NYC. No David in there. It is part of a suite of images taken by the famous Gottscho Schleisner Inc. in 1951 of their residence, designed by D.D Tillett. The entire collection of images is in the Library of Congress. There is currently (or, depending on when you are reading this, there may recently have been..) an exhibition on the Tillett's life and work at the Museum of the City of New York. On view until February of 2013.I collect DD and Leslie Tillett textiles, so it was fun to buy this reprint. Not sure who actually took the original photo. See the Tillett exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York if you can -through early Feb/2013
