D-ART Michaela Shoe Bench with 2 Shelves - in Mahogany Wood

The wood on this bench is very nice, but assembly is very difficult. 12 long wood screws were provided for assembly. The starter holes were not drilled deep enough and it was very hard to drive the screws in as far as they were supposed to go. My husband used an electric drill will a small bit to extend the holes, but was never able to get the top screws to go in all the way. The bench seems a little but wobbly and not as stable as it should be. This product needs to be redesigned as far as assembly is concerned.

I ordered this for my husband's shoes; he's always nixed my wimpy shoe racks for his shoes, so when I saw this I had to surprise him with it. Well, he loves it! He keeps saying that it is really not a shoe rack but rather a piece of furniture and too nice to stay in the closet (where it will positively stay!).

Shipping to Maui was not available (price of living in paradise) so I had to use a friend to mail it from the mainland I don't understand why vendors don't think Hawaii is the USA.

I chose this bench partly because we were converting a rather small coat closet into a coat knook. The bench fit so perfectly in to the closet that I had to assemble it IN the closet. I put hooks up to the right and to the left on the wall. Then I made a cushion for the bench. The bench is solid and exceeded my expectations because it is heavy and the finish is gorgeous. Just a piece of cake to assemble!!
