If you look at the many reviews on Overstock, there is a black/brown debate. This quilt is a very dark, rich brown & cream that will look like a faded black next to the right colors or other soft blacks. Next to dark, true blacks or next browns, the brown will show. This is not luxury bedding, but I have found no quality problems and is perfectly functional as the accent quilt/blanket I'm using it for. The pattern is bold, stunning and beautiful in our room.
I just received this quilt set today, and was very disappointed that it was not a good match for my daughter's bedroom. Her decor is black and white, and she needed a light weight coverlet for the summer months. The picture looked black & white, and description stated it was black & white, but it really is a dark brown-black and cream colored quilt. Even the label on the bag it came in stated "chocolate". Otherwise, the quilt would be fine, except the fabric finish is of dull luster, and I would prefer something with some sheen. I will be returning this item ASAP.
