I'd been needing a new mattress for some time, and was frustrated by what I know about the entire mattress shopping experience with sales people, brands with disguised names and misleading metrics that focus on one aspect of mattresses like spring counts.I came across the Invigo Fresh mattress after a mention by a friend, and since they're a local company I figured I would research their product and see if it made sense to buy from them instead of a big mattress store. They hit on all the things that were important to me:
* local business
* environmentally conscious materials
* simple, easy-to-pick-from line of mattresses instead of 10s or hundreds of options
* anti-microbial/hypo-allergenic
I've only slept on spring mattresses before, so I gave the company a call and they invited me to stop by their office to try out the foam based Invigo Fresh mattress. With just a few minutes of laying on one, it felt like a mattress and was more comfortable than my current mattress, so I decided to give one a try. They don't sell directly to consumers and recommended Amazon.com for quick shipping and a competitive price, so as soon as I got home, I ordered one from Amazon.
2 days later, a queen size Invigo Fresh mattress arrived at my house. It was manageably packaged, easy to open, and quickly 'inflated' to full size. Even though the mattress came vacum sealed in plastic, after opening it there was no chemical smell of any kind. It fit my IKEA bed frame perfectly, and didn't require a box spring or 'base'.
I've been sleeping on this mattress for 2 weeks now and it's great:
* no smells
* less disturbance to other sleeper when getting in and out or moving around
* plenty of support and plenty of 'squish'
Most importantly, it's very comfortable and I sleep far better on this mattress than my 7-year-old spring mattress that this one replaced.
PACKAGING:
they made me pay for 2 day shipping, and first said it would arrive by friday. it did, and sat in town in the warehouse all weekend. the note on the tracking page said that it wasn't DUE for delivery!
by the time it got to my house on monday, the box was ripped, dented and re-taped. as if someone had opened the box, kicked it several times, stabbed it, killed it and sent it along.
the heavy plastic inside was very difficult to remove. it was wrapped inside itself somehow.
THE MATTRESS:
smells like chemicals. it has been off gassing all week and STILL smells. I thought the fresh cover would cover up the smell of the latex top, which i KNOW also smells. So what is causing the smell, and why hasn't it gone away yet, after a week? Usually foam takes 48 hours, so it must be the "invigo fresh" additive. IT STINKS!
the 5 inch "plant based foam" layer inside is polyurethane...that is what it says on the label.
AND it's so hard that we won't be able sleep on it...even if it ever does finish off-gassing. it will need at least a 3 inch topper.
the directions recommend using a mattress pad with this mattress, and removing the pad once a week to let it air out! So if we get a topper to make it comfy, we will have to remove it every time we change the sheets, or we risk something terrible happening to this stinky rock.
i am grouchy because i would like to sleep in my bed, in my room, with my husband. but i am STILL waiting for this thing to stop smelling. and now i'll have to shell out another $300+
to make it comfortable?
UPDATE: Over 2 weeks later, it still has a chemical smell. It refuses to air out, and impossible to sleep on. I tried sleeping on it, with and w/o a topper and got headaches. It is so firm that it pinches the nerves in my arms and legs. My LIMBS fell asleep, but not me. I will be returning this and expect a full refund.

I am very pleased with this mattress. I had been looking for a quality mattress for my teenage son, 15 yrs old and growing fast, I wanted something that would last him for awhile. A friend of mine told me about her Invigo topper that she loves and told me that the company also did mattresses.I looked it up and I liked what I saw, but the bad review made me really nervous, with the stinking and whatnot.
My husband and I have a latex mattress that we have had for a few years now and we love it, comfortable but at the same time supportive. I did a lot of research before we bought ours and found that latex has a lot of good things, so I really wanted a latex mattress for my son. At 15, he so busy with school and all the sports he does, he needs something that will help his body rest well. But latex mattresses can be expensive this one is much more affordable.
Since there were other positive things about the Invigo Fresh and the company in other reviews, we went ahead with the purchase. It arrived very quickly; the box was a little beat up, but not bad I would say the packaging did what it was supposed to do to protect the mattress in order to get here. We bought a queen size, and my husband and son took it upstairs and got it out of the box. It was on his new platform bed in seconds. It looked great and fit perfectly. Really amazing, the whole process took maybe a total of 10 minutes and so much less hassle than going to look for a mattress, buying it and then having to schedule and wait for delivery people to come to your house. My son slept on it that night and was really happy the next morning and asked him how he slept, he told me he had the best night ever and said, "The new mattress is super deck!" which I think means cool.
I snuck in a nap on it recently just to try it out and it's comfortable firm, but not "rock hard." As far as a smell, it has a very faint smell of latex the way my other mattress smelled but it is very barely noticeable, nothing like memory foam, which I find really terrible. I would definitely recommend the Invigo mattress for kids and teens and really for anyone who likes a firmer feel. It seems very well made and a good value. Overall, I am just really happy with it and I'm sorry, but don't understand what could have happened with that other customer.First let me say that I am a little biased towards this mattress. I am one of the designers who worked on the logo of the product... But! with that in mind, I was also impressed enough to purchase a mattress for my daughter a few weeks ago.
Packaging:
It came well packaged in a double thick cardboard box and the mattress itself was vacuumed packed and rolled with a very thick plastic. It was easy to cut the plastic off and in doing so, my daughter got a kick out of watching it spring to life in a matter of seconds. It was wrinkle free and actual size without any further effort. I was very impressed and it actually surprised me with how small the box was. It was easy to carry, which I appreciated. It's amazing how much air was sucked out.
Mattress Benefits:
I purchased this mattress over other mattress, mainly IKEA for one main reason. We are very active people. We hike, bike, run and spend a good portion of our time outside. It's a little gross to say, but we jump into bed on a typical night, a little less than fresh. I ride my bike a lot at night and sometimes race late into the night, as does my daughter. We typically get home exhausted, grab a bite to eat and then jump into bed.... Having the odor neutralizing effects along with the antimicrobial traits made it an easy sell. Maybe one day I'll learn to take a shower every night before bed... but until then, it's nice to know my mattress is doing it's part until then. For my daughter or anyone else with kids, active or not, I think it's a no brainer.
The previous reviewer talked about a "Gas" smell. I honestly did not smell anything other than a new mattress. It didn't smell necessarily bad or good. It just smelled.. well like a new mattress.
Comfort:
It's an 8" mattress, so it's not for someone looking for that plush "sink and get stuck" night's sleep. If that's you, I'd look elsewhere... maybe even look up one of their other styles. It is very comfortable though. Not too soft yet not too firm. It's very european in style... and I have a hard time believing that millions of those across the pond who sleep on latex beds every night with no problems, can't be wrong.
Quality:
It's pretty new, so it's hard to really comment on quality of construction. But the top and sides are well stitched and it looks well built. The fabric appears tough, yet is very soft.I will do my best to update, should that ever change.
Conclusion:
I would purchase one for myself without question and most likely will sooner rather than later. (A few years ago, I purchased a Mattress Factory coil mattress, that I disliked enough to put a topper on it last year to help hide the feel of the springs. Not to mention it's about 18" in thick and most of my sheets won't fit it. I absolutely hate my current mattress. However, it is a little too new and at the moment I haven't been able to justify a new purchase with my wife) But I'm working on it.

This mattress meets all of our expectations and more. It is beautiful in construction (marvelous packaging approach) and very comfortable to use. It is firm without being hard, it maintains its shape and it has no odor at all. Placed on our new platform bed it serves us well in all the ways one might wish a mattress to do. It replaced an innerspring mattress that had become very uncomfortable as well as noisy.
