QUALITY
Seems well made. This bed is almost identical to one from C & B at less than half the price. It feels solid once it's put together. The fabric also seems durable to me. I expected it to be thin linen. While it's probably not as good as a higher end bed might be, it certainly looks like it is. This was within my budget and looks much more expensive than it was.
ASSEMBLY
The bed needs to be assembled, but there are not a million pieces to put together. It's a fairly easy process once you figure out what to do (see below). You'll get the headboard, footboard, rails, platform and bolt kit as separate pieces. Thankfully, the platform with the bowed wooden slats for holding the mattress up comes fully assembled! Everything is wrapped with a thick layer of sheet styrofoam, then put inside a thick plastic bag. All pieces were packed well and arrived undamaged. Just a warning though, be careful when you're cutting off the plastic and styrofoam sheet...remember, there's fabric underneath and you don't want to cut into that!
The assembly process is a bit time consuming and the instructions are very vague. In fact, there are no written instructions. It's all pictures.
The bolts to attach the side rails to the headboard and footboard are actually IN their respective pieces and not in the bolt kit that comes packed separately. I got a little panicked when I couldn't find the bolts until I realized they were screwed into the pieces already. You have to take them out before you can attach the brackets, which I found sort of strange.
My major compliant, however, is regarding the marks for installing the brackets that hold up the mattress platform. The headboard, side rails and footboard all have red dots that indicate where you are to attach the brackets, but they are almost invisible against the black fabric. I had to use a flashlight to find them...I never found the markings on the footboard and had to eyeball that one. It was quite annoying and made the assembly go slowly. Why the manufacturer didn't use white or yellow markings that are easy to see against black is beyond me! If they had done that, the assembly process would have been a breeze.
HOW IT LOOKS
I would not describe the color as "cream". It's more of a light stone color...between gray and oatmeal. The picture on the site is pretty accurate color wise.
The nail heads in the headboard are quite a bit larger than they appear in the photo, but they look really nice.
The bed has a low profile and sits much lower than my old bed. This is not a complaint...just FYI. The measurements on the site are correct, so just be sure you measure and know what you're getting.
OVERALL RATING
I'm really pleased with the quality at this price. I highly recommend this product. Good price, good quality and (with a little patience) easy assembly. The look of the bed was exactly as expected, so I have no complaints related to expected vs. actual quality of the product. The delivery service (there are only 2 for this bed, regardless of which uniquely-listed item you select, as they all, to the best of my analysis, come from the same seller) called 4 times to notify and then confirm delivery of the bed (they were actually early...how often does that happen?). Here, though, is my first caution: CAREFULLY inspect each box that is delivered to you there was a tear in one of my boxes (containing the side and foot panels) that was deep enough to rip through the packaging and damage one of the fabric side panels. As with any delivery service, don't expect the people delivering your boxes to point out any damage to you they certainly didn't in my case.
There seems to be some differentiation in unique Amazon listings for this bed in that some ship the mattress platform in one piece and some don't. If yours is a "don't" (and mine certainly was, meaning that it came in 2 pieces), here is my second caution: don't expect any instructions for assembling the bed to be included. Most of the queen bed assembly is straightforward (side panel slots slip onto the headboard and footboard bolts, wooden legs get screwed into the headboard and footboard). But then you're left with 2 metal legs, 4 screws (2 each of different lengths), 4 bolts, and 4 brackets. If you view some of the pictures provided for the bed (which I'm thinking are actually pictures of the king-sized bed), you might mistakenly think that these metal legs should be placed near, and inward of, the wooden legs on the footboard this is not the case. The metal legs are used, with the bolts, screws and brackets, to join the 2 platform pieces I've added a picture for this item to show how the legs, bolts, screws and brackets go together to support the platform (there are 2 holes in each metal platform section). Figuring out this assembly is probably a no-brainer for the assembly-adept, but I admit I didn't figure it out until I did a search of the web and found an accurate picture of the queen-sized bed.
Update: The seller did send me assembly instructions via email when I found out who they were and sent a request, but I can't help but wonder why they weren't included with the shipment to begin with. Actually, the instructions (which include a parts list yey!) provide assembly instructions for a delivered version of the bed which doesn't have the connecting system for the head/side/footboards already installed. Whatever the configuration that's shipped, having those instructions included with the assembly hardware couldn't cost the manufacturer/shipper much, and it would go a long way towards fostering CUSTOMER SATISFACTION for future purchasers.
Update 2 (Sept. 09, 2012): As further indication that the bed is sold in multiple listings by the same seller, today my review of the bed is now shown for the most expensive ($1,500!?!) version listed for this bed (my "version" sold for $767.43), thus (and in, admittedly, my opinion), making it more unlikely that my review, and much, much more importantly a helpful metal leg installation picture, will be seen by future prospective purchasers.
I do like my bed, and hopefully the picture I've added will help anyone else who's assembly-challenged eliminate that frustration factor. A little honesty regarding the state of the product when it was delivered, and even a simple picture of the platform/leg assembly included with the delivered bed, would have made this a perfect purchasing experience for me. That's the seller's (and, in the case of delivery, the shipper's) bad, not mine.

I couldn't have been happier with this bed. We were in the market for an upholstered bed for quite sometime. The good ones were really expensive(around 1500-2000 bucks) and the less expensive ones had cheap fabric which made them look even cheaper. After looking hard and long, we almost thought we might have to go for another type of bed. That is when we saw this one on Amazon. The kind of quality you get for this price is absolute value for your money. The fabric looks and feels expensive. However, I agree with the other reviewer on the color of the fabric. Its more of a light stone color. The nail trims are beautifully done. We went with this product based on just one review, which is very risky considering the logistics involved if you don't like it and need to return it. But we loved it as soon as we opened the box. I would like to add here that the installation takes 2 people since you need one person to just support the horizontal board. With free shipping(for Prime customers) there is no better deal you can ask for! All-in-all a great buy.
