The light string has a heavy electrical pack on a fairly short string of lights. Not appropriatebfor outside use. The cord is unattractive.
the preset light mode takes a while to set up (up 8 button presses, wait, press again...) and is forgotten when the lights are turned oof. That means you have to fumble with the controller every time they are turned on again to put them back in your preset mode.
Can the seller confirm if these also have the same problem?

These lights are terrible. Very cheaply made. I bought two sets. The first set did not work after 15 minutes and I did not even bother opening the second set. Threw both in the trash. I also tried to contact the seller, e-mail said he was out for a few days, but never did get a response. :-(Horrible item and should be removed from Amazon's listing. They used cheap, flimsy wiring, the plug is not grounded and they used defective resistors. When I plugged it in to see if it even worked, it burned a hole in the wire within 3 seconds and burnt my fingers where I held it! Luckily I was able to get a refund with Amazon's help. I do not understand how this could be legally sold in the USA. Product is made in China, packaging is in Chinese and it does not look like it was ever intended for sale in this country.I really believe this product is so poorly made that it poses a threat of catching fire if used. Do not waste your money or risk your family's safety.Bought two packs and strung them around my dorm. The different settings are a lot of fun to play with. While putting them up, none of the LEDs stopped working, which sometimes happens with stringable LED christmas lights.
The light produced by these LEDs is a cool temperature; it's borderline blue. I was hoping for a warmer white, but I've found I still like this shade.
The lights seems fragile; I don't know how they would fare outside. Perfect for indoors, though.
