Package arrived in good condition however a corner of the box was torn open during shipment. Thankfully no damage to contents and no lost parts. All the wood pieces were packaged to avoid being scratched by being individually wrapped. Instructions were clear, simple. Parts fit together as planned. All drilled holes align correctly. The bookcase looks nice assembled and isn't wobbly. And it is not sawdust board thankfully, it is real wood.The wood seems to be a bit soft. At the very top back side, the bookcase sides will split when the screws are inserted through the back slat, so care must be taken to add some glue, perhaps put clamps on the top sides while inserting the screws, or drilling the holes a tad larger first, or just a tad smaller dia screws for the top.
We are happy with the bookcase, it serves its purpose. For its price though I expected quality and heft to be a notch or two better.
Lastly, I suggest adding some small self stick protective pads on the back side on the slats so that the bookcase can be against the wall and not scratch the wall or the bookcase.
