I dislike velvet. I wrote to the company before I purchased this stool, and I specifically asked if the black designs on the stool were velvet. I was told they are not velvet. However, they are velvet. It is sturdy and comfortable, but I just wish they would have given me the correct information, otherwise I would not have purchased it.
This looks expensive just like you'd see in the decorative magazines ! I've had so many compliments on this...I love it !
