We are extremely pleased with this bed and the company's customer service. It arrived approximately one week after we placed the order and gave our UPS man are workout for the day. It arrived in three boxes, the lightest of which was about 75 pounds. The box with the bed frame is rather long making it awkward and heavy. Each box contains all the parts of one component of set which allowed us to put together a component at a time over the weekend. I recommend assembling the bottom sections first and then the bed frame. Pay attention to the size and weight of the bed. We put the bed together in the living room and then had difficult time navigating the tight turns of our hallway.

This is a well constructed piece. It is composed of particle board and laminate. I think it is solid and will last. Each component has a serial number on a sticker on one of the larger wood pieces. You need to write this number down, there is a spot provided on the instruction booklet even. The instructions are clear. I had no problem with pieces fitting improperly or missing/wrong drill holes. I was missing a few dowels used to anchor the drawers together before screwing. I called the company's customer service department on a Saturday after 5 pm and spoke with a live person who only asked me to provide the serial number off the furniture. They sent the pieces with no fuss via FedEx.

The drawers and cabinet can be placed on either end to best fit your room's layout. There is storage aplenty here. The three drawers seem a little shallow, but are so wide they make up for it. The toy box with shelf and storage cabinet side are great as well. The cabinet is deep since it goes back half the width of the bed. For the time we've left off the door on the cabinet and have placed bins inside. We especially like the bedside cubby, which replaces a nightstand. The area under the bed is a great little play area for my daughter. She's set up house for her dolls. You will need a 36" curtain rod if you're copying the photograph. For light underneath we installed a small fluorescent light bar, screwed into the bottom of the bed frame. I can imagine a bean bag under there for hanging out when she's older.

One thing that surprised me was how much this bed fills the room visually. It is about 46" tall so there is a horizontal AND vertical footprint with this bed. We love it because it does economize the space. At this point we do not need another dresser in the room. We bought this bed for our daughter's fourth birthday. The manufacturer recommends this bed for ages six and up. Rolling out of the bed is not the concern, I believe, but steadiness on the ladder by sleepy littles. I would definitely recommend this bed to others.

This bed is exactly as described. Relatively easy to put together for having 3 seperate building sets.

The under components (dresser and shelf) can be reversed from the picture shown. A feature not expressed in the description but is on the instructions.

All parts included and is perfect hight to tuck kids in and for climbing up and down ladder for young ones.

Great price compared to the competition without lack of quality! The bed kit even includes a touch up pen for scratches on the wood (anticipation for children scratching... Love it!). Cannot beat it!!!

I purchased this for my son. I am a woman in 40s, who considers good at mechanical stuff. I was able to put them together in 5 hours or so entirely by myself. It wasn't that bad as described in other reviews. However, soon after start using the bed, some problems became apparent. The bed is basically supported by only three thin long wood beams. From the beginning, I was wondering whether those beams have enough strength to support the weight of bed and my son. Surely enough, after a month start using the bed, I now see the beams are warped and drooping due to the weight. I need to buy some sort of metal beam to support, in order to prevent the bed collapsing. the drawer is also very easy to come off. My son loves the bed, but I have to say it's not well made.

this loft bed set is wonderful. pretty easy to assemble and my grandson loves it!!! a great buy!! easy to climb ladder too, not too high.

I purchased 2 of these beds one for my 6 year old son and one for my 9 year old son. We've only had them 10 months and they're already falling apart. The dresser drawer fell off after a few months and now both beds are pulling away at the joints. When I called the not so helpful South Shore Customer Support the first thing they said is my children must be over the weight limit (one is only 52lbs the other is 71). After I informed them of that the next thing they said was we must have put them together wrong. Are you kidding me? Now we have to remove everything from the bed and dressers and take pictures for them to even replace parts. If you can PLEASE avoid this BED!
