I started to put it together with no problems at all. The directions are not very detailed, so you have to pay close attention to the pictures and the way things are supposed to be attached by looking closely at the manual. It took me about 4 hours to get it all done, but I cannot stress enough on paying attention to detail. When I put the top on, I attached the front side to the back side and nailed the back cover to it not realizing it wasn't wood colored on both front and back. Was a silly mistake on my part. I have since switched it around and now feature small nail holes in the front of the dresser. It's not too noticeable unless you're up close and personal.
The plastic pieces that go inside of the dresser seemed a bit odd and made me question why they were even included. But, now I realize that they're there to prevent a small child from pulling out more than 1 drawer and having it accidentally tipping over on top of them. However, if you're an adult, you may find some nuisance to this since you will not be able to put your clothes away fast and efficiently without closing the previous drawer you had opened. Yes, it must be closed all the way or the other drawer will not open! Perfect implementation if your intended use is for a child.
PS. This is not real wood. Just wanted to make that clear for those who are looking for a real wood dresser. You will be paying twice, if not three times the amount for real wood.
So far, it's holding up and looks great when all said and done.

This dresser looks beautiful and from outward appearances fits the bill. It came together just fine through the instructions until it came time to slide the drawers into place and adjust them. From that point on...it because a worthless piece of garbage. The "cams" rotate the drawer up and down very little which left us with only 3 drawers that would work in the dresser and one left on the sidelines at a time. Also, the metal stopper that installs behind the drawer slider consistently fell out everytime we attempted to slide the drawer in place, open it, or adjust it so that it would close without being on top of another drawer front and scratching it. It did not matter how tight the screws on the drawer slider assembly were--which after many attempts at adjustment, got stripped out anyways. At this point, we have 3 working drawers, one that fell apart after numerous attempts at the adjustments--following the directions--sitting on the side. So much for $200. We purchased this and other pieces from this set while we were in early pregnancy before the nursery was ready, so we were unable to put it together until months later. We are unable to return it. So now, we have a waste of $200 sitting in the garage and are now trying to acquire money for new furniture--since we bought matching Sauder Shoal Creek furniture--outside of other baby necessities at this time. DO NOT BUY this item...it is a waste of money. Aside from the crappy item, the seller was just fine and shipped very quickly. The seller--I recommend, the product--no way.I had to carry this up a flight of stairs to get to my sons room. it is 120lbs in the shipping box so just keep that in mind. if you have an extra set of hands to help you i would utilize them. I followed the assembly instructions to the "T" and it really didnt give me any problems at all. I suggest you separate all the hardware before starting, theres alot of it. It set up in about 2 and a half hours taking my time. I was a little disappointed that there was already scratch marks on it upon delivery. I am happy with it overall, tho the color of it seems to be a bit darker than the pictures indicate (oiled oak). This is mostly pressed board so keep in mind when you to scratch it, it is more noticeable and tends to flake unfortunately. This was exactly what I needed for my room. The dresser is very sturdy and heavy. The drawers can only be opened one at a time and also they cannot be pulled all the way out which is a great and unexpected feature considering I have two small children that love to play in my room. Assembly took about an hour and half. There was a lot of parts but the instructions were very easy to read and understand. My only compliant for this item is that there was a small part of the bottom drawer where the color had been ripped off since it is particle board. I would recommend this item.
