Bai Pick-Me-Up Alarm Clock, Futura Titanium

Bai Pick-Me-Up Alarm Clock, Futura TitaniumI would purchase this only for its pick-me-up lighting capability. The alarm has not gone off at all or at the wrong time. Fortunately the time is still accurate. Construction is so so, but it is compact and visually appealing.

This alarm clock is unquestionably elegant in appearance and the pick me up light feature great. It was delivered well before the estimated shipping arrival date. Good on you Amazon for customer service excellence!

However, have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to set up this wake helpmate. Disk setting knob somehow fell out and it took ages to "pin" into place (manufacturer's instructions were of no help on this aspect) and while getting the alarm to work, couldn't set time. Am now in workaround mode with battery removed until displayed time hits at which point will re-install battery. Fortunately, have mastered counter clockwise alarm settings but may be challenged when it comes to resetting for daylight move forward and backward hours.

Clock is as described, works fine. Its principal asset seems to be its nice design (IMO there's a scarcity of good simple alarm clock designs despite the myriad choices).

BUT for the borderline-problem issue of the CLICK every second.

Personally I think there should not be a second hand. The second hand is not critical for the application, and it is the sole source of the noise.

Why is it so hard to find a good looking small analog bedside alarm clock? That's why I love this one so much. Cool design and the "it lights up when up pick it up" feature is fantastic (although mine works intermittently). Wish they made more designs like this.

This is a nice looking clock, but the works is screwed up. Have tried 3 new batteries and the thing just won't run after a couple weeks, even though the light shows it has power, worked the first few days but died. Just another poor quality control item, made in Germany no longer means "quality" apparently.
