Modern Computer Desk Workstation, Corner Unit & Desk Unit w/Frosted Glass Top

I shopped around a lot for a glass desk, and I am very happy with this one. It is a solid peice of furniture. I choose this desk over similar ones because it has a modern and clean look.

It was delivered in about a week. The glass part of the order was heavy, and wrapped very well. With the help of a friend, assembly took about an hour. It went together very well, with no problems. The only tool needed that was not included was a phillips screwdriver.

I love the design of this desk. It is solid and functional and fits perfectly in the spot we planned for it. I even put strips of color changing LEDs I got from Ikea behind the privacy screens for a great light show effect! The desk went together easily, but the parts awe quite heavy, so you may need two people to ease assembly.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing at first. The desk arrived in two quite hearty boxes. One contained the metal frame pieces and the other contained the glass tops. When we opened the second box we were greeted by a torrent of tiny glass chunks which spilled all over the carpet. The two large glass desk tops had completely shattered. The tempered glass breaks mainly into quarter inch cubes, but these eventually are ground down into an almost sand-like powder. It was quite a mess and took several passes with a vacuum cleaner to get it all up. I immediately emailed Amazon about the problem and they relayed our message to the shipper, Brookstone. After a couple of emails back and forth to clarify the problem, within about five days we had replacement desk tops. The process was relatively painless and completely resolved. Both Amazon and Brookstone are to be commended for their expediency.

I have just two other comments about this experience. First... Be sure you take a photograph of the damage whenever you receive something not in good condition. I just snapped a few pics with my iPad when I saw what had happened. Brookstone asked for a picture of the damage during our email conversations. I don't know what would have happened if I didn't have pictures, but I'm sure it helped the process.

Second, although Brookstone was quick to respond, I never received a notice that the desk or the replacement glass had shipped only that they would notify me when they were being shipped. It really was no big deal for us, but without this information one would not be able to track the shipment. Anyway, the shipment got to me quicker than I ever expected, so that was a good thing!

I highly recommend this desk, and would have no problem recommending ordering from Brookstone. Our problem was resolved faster than I could have expected.
