This armoire was a little challenging to assemble because the directions are weird. All parts are referred to by number and you have to flip back to the second page to identify the part. The actual assembly is fairly easy but the instructions are not very clear or helpful.

I added a bead of wood glue to the drawer seams to help keep them from falling apart and used staples instead of nails when attaching the rear cardboard panel. Staples fasten just as good or better and are easier to use than a hammer and tiny nails.

One good thing about this South Shore Furniture Company is that they provide an 800 Phone help-line if you need help or replacement parts. They also offer a 5-year limited guarantee.

I like the look of this armoire but not the quality. The drawers pull really hard and fiberboard is not very nice.

I give it 4 stars because there are both pros and cons but overall I like it.

I bought this armoire for my son. The shipping box and some items arrived damaged. My son called the company, and they sent the replacement parts (just some trim) without charge and quickly. The unit is well built. Looks more expensive than it is. It is a medium size unit being used for towels for the bathroom and placed in the hallway. It is a great deal for the money.

I received the armoire relatively quickly after ordering (5 days) and when I opened it up, the first thing I saw was a broken piece of wood; it was the trim. I thought, "Well, this is not a good sign." So, with a tad bit of skepticism, I began putting the armoire together. It took about an hour and a half to complete and wasn't all that difficult. The plastic rail for the drawer broke while assembling, however. I called the customer service line and after a 12 minute wait, someone finally answered the phone! Ridiculous! It's bad enough the damn thing came with a broken pieces and that another piece broke while assembling. At any rate, you get what you pay for, right? I rate this a 3 star because it is not a bad piece of furniture, sans the quality issues.

My husband prefers to stack his clothing. He doesn't want to hang or put in drawers, he enjoys stacking. I don't get it, but I've looked for something like this for months. This is the best quality for the best price. Has nice heavy hinges.
