My only complaint about this cabinet is that when it came with all its hundreds of pieces I was so overwhelmed that I had to hire a teen to put it together for me. Once assembled, it's a terrific piece of furniture, and a steal at the price. It pieces are well cut and assemble cleanly. The finish is a well done, high gloss cherry. The mirrors in the sides add light in the dark corner where I put it. I should mention the packing too. It was almost excessively packed in boxes within boxes, then taped with multiple layers of corrugated cardboard on all flat surfaces and the glass pieces. It was very heavy when it arrived and took me awhile to drag into the house. It also took awhile to cut through all the tape and wrappings. However, the results were worth it; there was not a single ding, scratch, or scar of any type on any of the pieces. I think I should mention too, since there were so many pieces, that all of them were there. The piece is assembled, in place, and full of my treasures. I'm delighted and may even order a second matching piece.Extreme packaging, poor instructions and a mess of styrofoam. The base was misdrilled so that the posts are different distances from the edge, and one door is too close to its adjacent post. I contacted the company about clarifying the assembly instructions, but didn't hear back. Position the posts (holes inward) to allow the tracks to hold the mirrors/front glass. Add to step 1: install the front glass & magnets. Many of the drilled holes weren't cleaned out making it difficult to secure the screws into the cam nuts. Other curios I've assembed had screws securing the bottom and top, rather than mere dowels. It is an attractive cabinet; but before you buy it, consider going to your local furniture store and buying a pre-assembled curio.Buy Coaster Solid Wood Glass Corner China Curio Cabinet, Cherry Finish Now
As others have said, this piece is a class act: real wood, nice glass and mirrors, and everything arrived mostly intact. The instructions are really more suggestions, with a set of pictures that does not tell you about where everything goes, how to orient the pieces, etc, meaning that if you don't study all the pieces extremely carefully (look for the tiny predrilled holes for the magnets that catch the doors!), you will, as we did, be taking it apart several times before getting it right. Coaster would improve its reputation quite a bit by hiring a technical writer to create proper instructions for a beautiful piece that deserved good instructions.Read Best Reviews of Coaster Solid Wood Glass Corner China Curio Cabinet, Cherry Finish Here
The coaster arrived as indicated by the Amazon's tracking system. When it arrived all the pieces appeared to be in good condition, however, the manufacturer did not indicate in the instructions that it substituted some parts. The instructions were not updated to the current hardware parts. After the installation, it looked like the picture that is posted on Amazon. I will probably install some LED lights inside the cabinet for more light. The only problem with the cabinet, again is the instructions. They are vague and hard to understand. They only have 4 steps to the whole assembly. You have to figure out the smaller steps like installing the doors and magnets. Overall a great product, I would recommend it to my friends and family.Want Coaster Solid Wood Glass Corner China Curio Cabinet, Cherry Finish Discount?
The product itself seems to be pretty sturdy and good quality but the issue I have is with the pieces that are missing and the process to replace these missing pieces. The instructions state that Piece "F Glass Door Hinges" should come with 4 pieces, when to properly put it together it needs 8. Our item came with 8. One of them is broken where the tiny cylindrical piece should be. Also, the instructions state that Piece "G Plastic Screws" should come with 8 pieces, when you need 16 to properly put it together. Our item came with NONE!
The warranty on the website () states to have the retailer (Amazon) contact them directly to open a claim to get the missing pieces. I contacted Amazon and they do not do this. The item is currently out of stock so they were going to refund me 15% of the money for the item. That is unacceptable.
I explained to the Amazon CSR (who was nice but seemed to want nothing more than to get off the phone as quick as possible by telling me anything I wanted to hear rather than fix the issue) that we already put the Curio together for my father's Urn who had just passed away. It is already filled with all his personal items and tucked in the corner, just missing the glass door with the hinges because we need the missing pieces to finish putting it together. We wanted it to be done with and didn't want to take the entire thing apart again just to ship it back and get another item or a refund. All we needed was 1 hinge, and 16 plastic screws.
After a little bit of pushing, the Amazon CSR agreed and this is what I'm expected to do:
Wait for an email from Amazon stating that the product is back in stock.
Contact Amazon again (or hopefully they contact us but I doubt it) to set up the shipment.
Wait for the item to be delivered to our house and be available to stop the delivery man, open the product in front of him, take out the missing pieces (which I indicated to the CSR that they may or may not be there due to the way the instructions state they only need half the amount), and have the delivery driver take the item back to Amazon.
I don't know if they have a special message they can add to the delivery but I have a feeling that the delivery driver is not going to let us open the package and take certain pieces out in front of them then just take it back. Even if they do, it's a pretty lengthy and ridiculous process that from what gathering based on the warranty is NOT the proper way to request the missing pieces.
I've ordered many items from Amazon and have never really had much of an issue until this. Hopefully this review will spark an email from an Amazon employee that will actually try to help us the right way and get us the pieces we need by contacting the Vendor themselves like they are supposed to!
