Chestnut Camden Blanket Chest

I just ordered this item and chose two day delivery. I didn't want to spend the extra $50 for next day. Well to my surpirise it came the next day, which is great. The bench/trunk is easy to put together except for the last step. Attaching the spring hinges is a challenge. the bottom of the hinge is mounted inside the chest and you have the spring arm in your way. You have two 1/4" screws to mount it and about 3/4" clearance two try and fit your fingers in there to hold the screw while you install it. It's really hard to describe this process but it took me 15 minutes per hinge!! If there is a trick to it I never figured it out.

The bench is even more attractive than it looks in the pictures. It is solid and very sturdy with a ton of storage inside. It is only 2"" longer than the trunk it is replacing but there is so much storage room inside that what was in my old trunk barely fills this one. I especially like the lid. Thanks to the spring mechanism it stays where you put i. No need to hold it open while you're looking for something inside it.

This bench is well worth the price, infact it looks like it cost much more. It's a quality piece of furniture.

This chest is well made. It's sturdy but not too heavy. It has a significant amount of storage space and is strong enough to be used as extra seating as well. It has a beautiful color and finish and it was very easy to put together.

This is a great looking chest and easily looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture. Assembly is relatively easy for a taller person but if you don't have good balance or reach, you may need help putting it together. The materials aren't the best in the world but it does look good in my living room next to a great dark hardwood TV stand. Definitely better bang for the buck over those $1000+ chests.

I bought this chest as a gift for my daughter for Christmas. Was very excited when it arrived only to find out parts were missing and some of the holes that were to be pre-drilled weren't. Something seemed to be wrong with back board, couldn't even screw into it. Debating on scratching this whole gift idea and getting her something else.

The chest looks great but is cheaply made. The side panels I could knock a hole through with little effort. The stain and varnish finish is cheaply done and if something hits the chest the varnish will crack from little force. I would only pay $100.00 max for this chest. From the previous reviews I read I really expected this to be worth the $220.00 I paid and not so cheaply made. Make sure it is somewhere where no one will touch it or bump it. Also other reviews claim the inside is very large. I could only store four child size blankets and two pillows inside and it is full. When people claim large storage space I would assume two or three adult comforters and a couple pillows. I would guess one adult comforter and two pillows would fit if you choose to store a full size comforter.
