i got this along w/ the bed, check out my review for the bed, it goes the same for this. i built it in about 45 min alone, seems sturdy, very please, good deal if you looking for a reasonable, super fast ship.South Shore Furniture, Cakao Collection, Bookcase Headboard 54", Chocolate priced head board.

I love this headboard, but the only thing I'd change is that it doesn't attach to the bed frame at all, which makes it a little rickety when you lean back against it (we have molding along the floors so it doesn't sit flat against the wall). I'm thinking of getting some L brackets to bolt them together, but then I'll have ugly holes in it.

Also, the height is a little odd. You end up with the shelf space directly behind your back (where you'd want some support if you're leaning back to read).

I'm still happy with it and glad I bought ut.

While the description says that the headboard can easily be put together in 5 easy steps we had no idea what those steps were as we did not recieve any instructions on how to put the headboard together. So after spending 2 hours figuring out how it goes together we notice that not only did we not recieve instructions but we also didn't get all the pieces that were supposed to come with it. Also the height on the headboard is somewhat to be desired. If you own a full size bed with a box spring and frame your going to have to hoist the headboard up on cinderblocks or 2x4's in order to get the bookcase level with your mattress.

Overall i'm somewhat disappointed with the quality of the headboard. Feels to me like the 50 dollar pieces of furniture that break in a year that you buy at Wal-Mart. When I'm paying 100 dollars or more on something I expect a little more than cheap quality particle board with a good coat of paint that someone with basic carpentry skills could have constructed easily for about a quarter of the price.

I do not reccommed as a buy.

THIS HEADBOARD IS TO LOW. The shelf section is right where my pillows are. So in the night as I sleep my pillows start to move into the shelf and I'm no longer on a pillow. I am going to look into trying to raise it somehow so the solid part of the board is at the pillow height, but still that is a pain. I have the accompanying South Shore bed platform so I thought it should be fine. Yes I have a deep mattress but all mattress now are deep, so it really could've been designed better. also it doesn't attach to the bed frame in anyway. You just sit it behind the platform, so it can move a bit, also annoying.

Great headboard, just make sure to choose a bed frame that attaches to this piece. I got the plat form bed frame thinking it would bed low to the ground, but it was not so the head board sits too low, we will have to add some sort of blocks to lift the head board, or attach it to the wall so it's sturdy and sits higher..... If anyone knows what type of brackets would work to attach it to the platform frame please share..... Other than that I really like the style and is durable and very function able for our bonus room....... Hope to finish it soon!!!!
