Cosmos TV Stand

I ordered this to replace an extremely crappy, flimsy stand that I had ordered previously, it was so bad that I didn't want to take the chance of it falling apart. (You can find my review of it elsewhere through my profile.) This one, as soon as I touched the box, I could tell was going to be another experience entirely.

It only cost about 20 dollars more, and was quite a bit smaller, but the whole package was much heavier. Once I got everything out of the box I could see that for the most part it was pressed wood. The top and bottom boards however are completely solid wood, adding to its weight and sturdiness. The rest of it is indeed pressed wood as you might expect, but unlike almost every other assemble-yourself furniture piece I've put together in the last ten years, everything in this kit fit properly without coaxing, or wood glue added to the mix. Fully assembled it doesn't wobble, the doors don't squeak, and it holds up the 150 pound weight of a 29 inch CRT monitor perfectly. I suppose you might find a lot fancier furniture assemblies out there but I think this one looks extremely classy with its simple form. I ordered the South Shore Double Dresser to go with it in the same room so the decor matches, but it's definitely the build quality and sturdiness that sold me on their products overall, highly recommended.

Overall a nice, sturdy product. Perfect fit for what I need. Had damaged doors. Called company and they sent new ones right away.

Very well made...my 13 y.o. grandson put this, bed, headboard, nightstand, dresser & chest of drawers together by himself. It was very well packaged, corners protected by thick cardboard. The wood is thick, had no scratches, marks, etc. He is thrilled with all of it.

I ordered this piece along with the rest of the South Shore set, and this piece did not have all the parts, was not manufactured correctly. I tried to return it and they would not let me because I no longer had the box. Told me to pay to have this defected item sent back, and even then they would not give me a refund! Amazon also did not help to resolve this case, closed the case and I am stuck with this item and the entire set, that should be thrown in the trash!
