Venezia Flatstick Bamboo Roll-Up Blind in Cocoa

Radiance 0216302 Venezia Roll-Up Blind Cocoa 36x72I was initially looking at classic wooden slat blinds, but they're hard to find at a good price, so I decided to try the roll-up style. This blind is a great color and looks good in the window. The string mechanism was initially slightly tricky, but it's worked perfectly since I installed it. Speaking of which, installation was very easy. Overall, I think these blinds are great for adding a bit of style (definitely nicer than the white plastic venetians), without breaking the bank.

Received the Radiance Venezia Roll-Up blind in good condition. It took a few minutes to figure out the cords on the blind but installation was relatively easy on my outside patio. It looked good and the cord performed its purpose of rolling the blind up and down. However, we had a few days of rain and the blind was in a rolled up position. When I unrolled the blind, the whole front was covered with mildew. That said, it was easy to wipe off with soapy bleach water. In its present location on my porch, I am going to have to keep the blind in an unrolled position, at least during the rainy season. I had purchased this blind thinking it could be used outside. Obviously, it was not made for a hot, humid location in Florida. However, it should work fine if installed inside.

Okay, so I am a frugal woman and can't stand spending money on a product that I can't modify. That said, I had three 30"X23" windows in my laundry room/daylight basement that needed something other than the drapes already there. I rolled out all seventy-two inches of the blinds, marked it in thirds, superglued and then stapled the cords so the slats wouldn't unravel, and then made two cuts with a razor blade. Now I have all three windows with blinds--three for the price of one deal. Yes, I know, I'm a cheap woman. But it worked; you can't tell it's been modified; and it even adds some interior and exterior appeal to a room that usually is just for function. Yay me.

Anyway, I mounted the "workable" blind with its strings in the middle window--the only one that actually opens for me so you can still pull up the slats as originally intended. As for the other windows, I had some extra cord, and with some ingenuity they also roll up to let in more light.

In all, the blinds are great. They are attractive and easy to install. The only thing is that they do not give you full privacy, especially at night when you have the lights on. I knew this when I ordered and I don't mind...and I seriously doubt that my neighbors are going to be staring at me while I fold laundry. If they are, then...that's just weird, but so be it.

Love these blinds! They are the perfect finishing touch to my modernistic "red" room/TV room. I paired them with cream colored curtains and cast iron black rod from Pottery Barn. A perfect combo! They are a little see-through. So, definitely would not put them in a bedroom. But they are fine for the TV room. Overall, great product. Assembled it myself (as a woman) with a cordless 1/16" drill bit and hooks (which are included). You would of course have to buy the drill and 1/16" drill bit :)

The blinds look awesome on our windows. This was one of the few we could find that had enough height to cover our entire oversized window. No issues with rolling them up or down. The one problem I have seen is that when cleaning/dusting them once, the cleaning cloth got stuck in between and the pieces are now tearing away from the blind from that spot. It's gradually getting worse. I guess just be careful not to get them stuck in anything and they will last a long time. Overall I am very happy with these.
