I normally try to avoid anything made in China, but these looked like exactly what we needed, so we went ahead and ordered these. It took a few weeks to arrive, They were unassembled and packed in a large and heavy (175 lbs) box.The box was kind of beat up but on initial inspection the damage seemed only to the box.
They were fairly easy to assemble and the wood itself seemed of high quality. Their were a few minor scratches on the legs but nothing that was too visible. Two of the dowel pins on the lower X brace of the coffee table were broken off, but this was minor and easily replaced.
Once assembled, while the leg system seemed quite sturdy, I cant say the same about the glass. It seemed quite thin for it's size. We also found a bunch of fine scratches in it and it still has some type of film on it that glass cleaners and vinegar can't seem to totally remove. These tables are in a darker family room and the flaws are not really noticeable and overall do look nice.
However, my wife and both agreed that they both looked too tall. I then removed the legs and shortened them at the bottom 2 inches and retapped the stud holes to remount the lower X-brace. This made a huge improvement in the looks.
Since our purchase we found a very similar coffee table on Amazon, that is already much shorter, made in the USA, and is probably of higher quality. It is however, much more expensive.
So overall, you get what you pay for.
