South Shore Trinity Collection 5 Drawer Chest, Pure Black

I wasn't expecting solid oak furniture when I bought this; I know South Shore tends to be on the lower end of the quality spectrum as far as furniture is concerned. However, I really needed a dresser, and I wanted it to have five drawers, but I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money. This dresser really exceeded my expectations, and I really do love it. It has pulled my bedroom together nicely (matching my zebra print bedspread), and really is better quality than I expected, being sturdier than some of the other reviews led me to believe.

Yes, the drawers are a little bit shallow, but I still fit all my clothes in them. Yes, the assembly takes a while, but considering the length of time that I will hopefully own this, I didn't mind spending a couple of hours assembling drawers (which take most of the time to do). And, finally, yes, the construction isn't going to last a hundred years, but as a twentysomething waitress fresh out of college, this dresser is perfect, and really seems to be sturdy and useful.

I had a terrible experience where UPS tried to deliver it to another apartment, hence it was rejected, even when I was at my apartment at the same moment. It went back to the manufacturer. I called amazon, they directed me to the manufacturer who did its best to send another one. I had a bad time with the delivery since the object was heavy and couldn't go pick it up myself.

The item is good, some minor details with the black painting (at certain angles you can see some scratches), but nothing bad

I received this dresser with 7 faulty (misdrilled/miscut) wood pieces 5 drawer bottoms, 2 drawer sides. That meant I was unable to use any of the drawers, and was unable to even start to assemble two of the drawers.

I contacted South Shore for replacement pieces and, although they were able to send me the correct drawer bottoms, they sent me the WRONG pieces for the drawer sides. Now I have 3 finished drawers, and seven or eight loose, useless pieces sitting around my room.

I'm contacted customer service again to try and get the right pieces but all in all this experience has been terrible. I won't buy a South Shore product again.

Ok, so I'm not sure what SOLID OAK material the first person got if it was truly this dresser.

This is your typical Press Board material CHEAP! Assembly took 3 hours but was a fun Mother-Daughter project. What you see is what you get! It's NOT Solid Wood!!! It's the same cheap dresser you can buy at Wal-mart or Target. Kind of disappointed I bought it, but what's done is done.

Hopefully my daughter will get some decent use out of it. If you want a nicer dresser, go to your local furniture store and check out their Bargain room first. You'll be glad you did. Lesson learned here.
