Couldn't find a storage bench at any of the 5 furniture stores in town (or any of the discount stores), so I ordered this one dreading assembly and expecting junk... But it has exceeded my low expectations because once assembled, it is sturdy and attractive.

When you sit on it, it doesn't creak or give at all--It's sturdy.

When you open the lid it stays open by itself, so it works safely as a toy box. Also, the seat edge extends a little so you can open and close without pinching fingers.

If I was rating on assembly and packaging though, I'd give it 2 stars! One piece was busted, and I had to glue it back together, but thankfully it was a piece that doesn't show. Also, the piece of hardware that keeps the lid open was configured wrong, and very hard to install. I had to let my husband figure that one out. It took me every bit of 3 to 4 hours for assembly plus having him finish it up, so expect a little bit of work.

But overall, it's a functional and attractive piece of furniture.

Although we had a few difficulties with assembly, they were easily overcome. We love the result. It sits in our entryway and hold all our throws.

Easy to assemble, nice looking. The color is great. It does look larger on the website but perfect size for a smaller entryway. Sturdy too...would definitely buy again.

it came in cracked but i was able to repair the product. it works as designed and looks good where we have placed it in our home
