They work perfectly on a bumpy surface. The walls in my daughters room are bumpy but these stick perfectly. They've been attached for a few months and no problems. I did have some issues uptting them up but went to you tube and watched a few videos about the application. After that, no problem!

I put up two packs in our granddaughter's 20 x 18 bedroom and it was enough since I started them about 2/3 of the way up the wall.
