I don't know what the other reviewer was thinking, because these are not super shiny gold at all. Maybe in direct sunlight, but inside, in all of my rooms, even with the light on, they are a med-dark gold, with a little shine (just as pictured). But it is gold, so expect that with anything gold you order (clearly). I only wish they made these in silver.
The picture looked like it was a tan gold but no, it is a strait up shinny bling style of gold that just didn't belong in my bathroom.
