I purchased this about two weeks ago. Ordered on Monday arrived the following Wednesday(Amazon Prime is awesome). All the pieces were there and even came with a generous amount of bed slots that make a decent enough foundation that you do not need a box spring.
Key features
For those of you who are wondering, yes it does come with the headboard.
Does not require a box spring(though you may want to get a thin sheet of plastic to lay on the wood planks).
Those of you complaining that the holes aren't drilled they're not supposed to be. Most if not all furniture bought that needs assembly is made this way to ensure that the screws will fit and have grip and tension to provide a more sturdy bed. Besides the screws do not need a lot of force to screw in.
Fits my queen size bed perfectly!
Things to note
This should go without saying, but before you start assembling this bed or anything for that matter, TAKE INVENTORY of all the screws and parts listed on the instructions to ensure you don't get to a point in assembly where you find you are missing a crucial part and can't continue.
The bed parts are not labeled. Instead they provide a sheet of stickers with letters that you must apply to the pieces yourself. Do not fret though, its pretty easy to identify which piece is which and apply the stickers appropriately. Make sure you do this before assembly and don't try to wing it or you might be in trouble. Once the stickers are in order and you have done your inventory the instructions flow pretty smoothly.
Assembly
Did it by myself. Took about 6 hours. Probably could have cut that time in half but for the first 4 1/2 hours I used a screwdriver then remembered I had a ratchet set in my trunk. After I got the ratchet going I was flying through it.
Tips
At each step screw in the holes first, unscrew, then assemble and screw. It may seem like extra work but it'll make assembly much easier than trying to screw it in while trying to hold the pieces together. This method is especially crucial when attaching the headboard pieces.
The reason I only gave it 4 Stars instead of 5 is because it has yet to stand the test of time. After I give the bed some time I'll fill you guys in afterwords.
And for those you looking for a bed with drawers this bed has enough room underneath to throw in these bad boys Case of 3 Wide Underbed Drawers Thanks for reading folks hopefully it was helpful.
*Test of time
4 to 5 stars!
After spending some quality time(been about 9 months now) with this bed frame I can confidently say it has so far performed excellently. I did end up purchasing a box spring only because I did not like how low the bed sat, but I still believe the box bring was not necessary. After 9 months of use it has not given way in any area. The bed has not creeked/squeaked since I've had it (might be due to the 3" memory foam topper! It absorbs quite a bit). The only thing I have noticed, which is really only a minor inconvenience for a short time, is the end legs of the bed are rather sharp and not really rounded off and I bumped into them a few times before I got used to navigating the room. This bed is everything you would want in a platform bed. It came packaged very well with no broken boards and the wood looked flawless. Its was pretty easy to put together but you may need to people as it does get heavy. I put it together by myself in about 3 hours at the most. the bed comes with the bed frame, slates and headboard which is unbelievable for $174 queen size which other people are selling for $300 and $400 WHICH IS THE EXACT SAME BED. I had the company to send me some extra slates because the more the better and they sent them totally free with in a few days which made this purchase even more of a deal. BUY THIS BED U WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ONE BET.

This is one of three pieces I bought from Tvilum for a bedroom set and I'm starting to see some trends. I'll start with the pros first: I think the value for this piece is about right. I definitely wouldn't want to pay more, but it's probably worth ~$230. It's clean and contemporary and relativity sturdy once assembled. Assembly is pretty straight forward and took about 2.5-3 hours. Having a power drill helps (not required, but helps). Now the cons: You will have broken pieces in the box. In two of the three Tvilum orders I made, boards had broken corners or chipped edges when they arrived. The good news is they will send you replacements, but it's gonna take a few days to ship, so don't order if you are on a time crunch. Didn't have any trouble with the replacements being chipped, so I wonder if it is something in the Amazon fulfillment that causes the damage, as these come straight from the factory. Overall, it's not a bad bed or value, but expect to need to order replacement parts, and I would check Ikea or similar before committing.Read Best Reviews of Tvilum San Francisco Queen Bed Here
it has a few problems with shipping it comes chipped on the head board ive had it for about a month and one of the sides has started to pop out every few days plus the holes to drill in the wood aren't in the right place its all around not a good product trust me spend a little more on something nicerWant Tvilum San Francisco Queen Bed Discount?
To all those interested in purchasing this bed be forewarned. The support beams that ship with the bed are cheap bamboo planks. The center beam is supported by two THIN bamboom planks less than an inch in depth held in place by a single screw. For those that do not know what that implies, if the bed moves in ANY direction the center support planks give way. On my hardwood floors any movement causes the bed itself to shift, again putting pressure on the planks and shifting them. Tonight while getting in to bed one of the two supporting center pieces collapsed and the center SUPPORT plank that runs down the middle of the bed gave way and snapped completely. While I found that this bed was a good bargain when I purchased it beware that you WILL need to replace the two standing support planks with thicker pieces of wood that are held in by more than one screw, and you will more than likely need to replace the support beam running down the middle of the bed as well. My girlfriend and I are hardly overweight individuals weighing in combined at 340lbs.
Also when I received the bed the backboard had several areas on the right side where the holes were not drilled for the screws on the headboard. This obviously isn't that big of a deal as long as you have a drill on hand. I still give the product a three star review because overall I find the bed FRAME itself to be very sturdy, however the supporting beams beneath the center of the bed definitely are too cheap to support any form of weight or movement. To those with hardwood floors like myself I would suggest placing rubber "shoes" on the bottom of the four posts to prevent the bed from moving significantly and causing the problem that I listed above.
