Household Essentials Basket Set, Banana Leaf, Rectangular, Set of 4

By the picture on the web page, I thought that these were the ordinary straw baskets found in a craft store rather thin.

These are great sturdy baskets, with steel support throughout. Great sizes of the baskets, many uses for them.

Fast shipping and arrived in good condition.

I usually prefer a softer basket, but these are very nice. I ordered two sets. The two larger I use in the top of our coat closet for our gloves and hats....the medium size we use on a kitchen shelf by our back door for keys, mail, stuff. The smaller ones I use for various makeup. Very nice. I got the dark stain and they are a nice dark brown.

We decided to roll the dice and try these baskets despite several reviews indicating that these baskets put off a bad odor. The set that we received did smell as well. You can smell the foul odor when taking them out of the box. We then let them sit in a room for a week to gauge our level of tolerance for the smell. However, if we did not spend time in the room and then entered the room, the smell seemed strong. The baskets are not really worthy of having to tolerate the constant odor.

Regarding construction they appeared to be well made. But, they are much more rough in appearance or even rustic than the picture indicates. If we had a thatched hut tiki bar in the backyard, these would definitely blend in, but not really nice enough in appearance for our indoor decor.

We returned the baskets.
