I recently bought two of these headboards; to be used in my daughters's room. They arrived a week after I ordered them, they were carefully packed and they came completely assembled (which is a plus to me). I loved the burnished-brown-metallicky finish but I wanted something in white. I gave each of them two coats of regular indoor water-based glossy paint. I distressed the dried paint with 220-grit sandpaper, gave them a final coat of clear acrylic sealer and voila! they look like those expensive vintage metal shabby-chic headboards that sell for hundreds of dollars at other places. I love the quality, I love the price and most important of all: my daughters are very happy with their new "vintage" headboards!
