The beauty of the wood is amazing, especially for the price. The construction of the chairs isn't too terrible, especially if you have a drill--it goes by quickly. There are middle bars on the lower part of the chair that don't really fit flat to the pieces. The attachment pieces are wood, so when trying to get them into the holes...the little wood pieces break off! After 40 minutes of trying to get the bars in place and fitted into their assigned holes, I broke two the wood nobs...and gave up. My advice, don't bother with the troublesome middle (spreader) bars. They are annoying, break easily, and can cause damage to the rest of the chair. The chair still holds over 300lbs without the bars (my husband's weight + mine). Hope this helps.
