Classic Antique Black Finish Fold-Down Secretary Desk with Hutch

We bought this unit after looking around for something like this for over a year. We wanted a place for our kids to use my laptop without disappearing into their rooms and being on the internet instead of doing homework. Also, the way that the desk is situated, I can see the screen at most angles. This unit is great as it's in our great room near our dining room table and looks like a hutch with the glass doors, but when folded down, becomes a very roomy student desk. The way that the fold-down is supported is very strong and well made and will not weaken with use, unlike some of the chain or metal hinge styles. In the lower cabinets we have put a smaller wireless printer/copier, so we are really pleased and our system is working out very well.

This was not true to the size that was advertized. We thought it was 45 inches long and and it was only 32 inches. We may have gotten it anyway but we may also have considered other options. It is strong and sturdy, which was also important to us.

The hutch fits nicely in my kitchen. I needed a small desk to hide my lap top but still provide some display shelving. When I read that I could fit a small wireless printer in the bottom section I was sold. I now keep all my bills, papers and laptop out of sight. Still waiting on the new printer.

The finish is in some places a little rough. It does have a rubbed, antiqued look. But overall has a very nice appearance.

Delivery was fast, although I was not allowed to check for damages. There were none.

But overall, just what I wanted.
