I bought this to use as a storage chest at the end of my bed to hold sheets. So far I have been able to place about 8 queen sheet sets into the chest. Great for my needs. It did take a while to put together and there was a small chip in the paint missing on the lid, but still a really great chest. Matched the rest of my bedroom furniture perfectly. he downside is that you do lose a lot of the space for the decorative aspects.

We purchased this (along with other Shoal Creek furniture) for our son's bedroom. I was leery because of some negative comments about the quality but we decided to try it, and I'm so happy we did! The furniture looks great in a little boys bedroom, and as for the damage and scratch comments, no more so than my solid wood furniture that is high end. I assume that as a little boy, he'll manage to damage whatever we buy, so be it. Get a marker and touch it up. If it arrives mangled, well that is certainly not the manufacturer's problem, but in buying several of these pieces I am upset with the way in which two major delivery companies handle heavy packages. Bottom line is this: it has the look and feel of higher end furniture than it truly is, and I am incredibly happy with it. It has a great mechanism to keep little fingers from being pinched (something my childhood toy box lacked!) and I'm satisfied that he'll enjoy this even after he's outgrown toys.

It serves the purpose of why I purchased it, which was for my bedroom to hide cable wires and cords because it is high enough off the ground and wide enough to cover between cable and electrical outlet. Directions were easy to put together, took maybe 30 minutes. Just kind of plain, nothing really super pretty about it.
