It is lovely and well constructed, but the description of the 'king' version, with the same photo as the 'California King' version says it's a platform bed. This requires a box spring, which is not what I expected.
Great fabric, solid construction, fairly easy to put together, exact parts included. But figure in the cost of box springs for this one.
The fit and finish was not perfect but the company quickly responded and is sending out a replacement footboard. When putting together it is easy as long as you keep all the screws loose until both sides of the bracket are attached. Then tighten all at once. This is not a platform bed but I was aware of that from other reviews. The 3 metal supports that come with it are much nicer than the usual wood you get. They were a little hard to install but function just fine. My only disappointment was the back of the headboard is not finished in the same fabric as the front. It is a black lining. I have another upholstered bed from a different company and the headboard back is finished. It was twice the price so I need to be fair on that point and gave this 4 stars for overall looks and value.

this bed is awesome...it does require a box spring. my husband put it together in about 90 minutes. the fabric is a pale greyish beige which is very contemporary and, i think, quite stylish!
