I bought one of these shades in white for a very sunny window in the bedroom, to help keep out the heat (note that they don't block out light, just sort of mute it). Cellular shades can be very expense, and these are a very decent value for the price. They construction is sturdy, and they go up and down very smoothly.One tip: installation is very simple, and involves screwing in two brackets, then pushing the shade up into the brackets, where they are held by tension/pressure. However, I had some trouble with the last step as my ladder was a bit short for the task, and I'm a small person with little upper body strength. Rather than force the shade into the brackets, I simply used a screwdriver to loosen the screws holding in the flexible metal clip on each bracket, tucked the shade into each clip, and tightened the screws once more.
