Walnut Finish Hall Tree Coat Hanger with Storage Bench

While the materials and finish are very nice, the hardware and directions are ridiculous. The cams they give you are made of very weak aluminum and I stripped all but 2 using a very minimum amount of force. Without the cams there's no way to assemble the bottom. Also, the directions are about as confusing as it gets. All the parts aren't labeled correctly and it requires a alot of guess work. Save your money and buy a piece of furniture that can actually be assembled.

so we got our piece of furniture. packaging was substantial. original box from china was encased in quick foam inside another box. i was a little concerned at first to see it shipped via fedex, but it made it with no damage.

my problem was with the hardware used to put this thing together. there are small cast zinc or cast aluminum parts called 'cam locks'. 8 came with the piece of furniture. i broke 5 of them. i had to call the furniture mfgr and request more which i'm waiting on now. they sent out a whole new hdwr package without hesitation. hopefully these ones don't snap. if you order and get one of these hall trees, i would automatically call coaster furniture and request a hdwr package. luckily i'm in CA and so is coaster furniture. once shipped it'll only take a day or two to get to me.

as for the appearance, i wouldn't say it's walnut, more espresso which is fine with us. it was hard finding a hall tree that fit our width requirements. anyway, looks nice in the box, i'm sure it'll look great once it's assembled. I may update this review once put together to comment on how structurally sound it is.

furniture assembled. called coaster on friday, bot the hdwr package the following thursday. i'm glad they sent a whole new hdwr package. i broke 4 more cam locks. the ones sent from coaster seem to be made from a tougher material. anyway, until you fasten the seat to the legs/cubbies it was sorta rickety. once attached, it made it very stable. overall, pleased with purchase. wouldn't have really bought something like this online, but had no choice due to size restrictions. product looks nice.

It came in a very safe and secure double box and all pieces were in great shape. The only challenge we had was getting the screws on one side of the bench to bite the fastener. We made it work and it looks great now and helps to keep my in-laws jackets and hand bags off the floor and dining room table.

It came all scratched/dented. It's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to put together and have it stay together. And we broke a cam while TRYING to get it together (how do you break metal??!) and there are NO extras. All in all, it's been a big headache. In fact, it's still just sitting in a corner after one week, still not completely together.
