THE IMAGE

When will Amazon learn? If a photograph of a black cat in a coal mine is unlikely to show reasonable detail, then a photo of a white item on a white background will exhibit the same lack of qualities! I had to go to a competitor's website to get an acceptable image of the item.

ORIGIN

Made in China is often the international stamp of poor craftsmanship, missing parts, poor materials etc. Not quite in this case -details follow.

THE INSTRUCTIONS

Quite good. Only the fitting of the hinges was a problem due to poor illustrations. All other parts were very well labelled and the illustrated manual was very good. Expect assembly in 30-60 minutes (depending on expertise and whether you can figure the hinges).

THE CARCASS

The carcass of the nightstand is of quite reasonable quality woodchip board, is pre-drilled accurately and is more than good and robust for the job.

THE FITTINGS

Decent quality screws and other fittings. Only one screw missing which I could supply from my toolbox. Everything else was all present and correct but not a single spare if you lose one, bend one or one is not manufactured perfectly.

I agree with other reviewers the dowels were a little undersized and the use of wood glue with the dowels would make a much better, and firmer, job.

THE LAMINATE

Oh Dear! This is the big, big failing! The laminate is thinner than the hair on an ant's beard. Even the act of screwing home the screws will cause the laminate to splinter. Luckily, these splinter points tend to be out of sight, but the same poor laminate is used throughout the item. I cannot see the corners or nightstand front or top surface taking even a small knock without the laminate splintering or being damaged.

BOTTOM LINE

It is built to a price (and a good cheap price!) but not to any reasonable ROBUST quality standard.

It is a nightstand after all, and should do reasonable service as a nightstand with such light use HOWEVER this will not stand up to any heavier usage in any other part of the home.

As a nightstand it is good value for money.

Product arrived on time and contained easy to follow instructions. I put it together easily and it appears as the photo depicts. My only problem is that it does not contain any sick-on felt patches for the footing. All-in-all, I am happy with my purchase.

Im glad my girl made me get these. They are actually really nice. I put 2 of them together and it took about 45 minutes not even. Very simple to put togeather and very well constructed. once there all said and done they look really nice and stand very sturdy. the door has a magnet latch so that it wont just open and close on you. There is also a shelf inside with 3 different settings. this is perft size, not to big not to bulky. Here are the dimensions. The height is 27 1/5 inches. width is 12 inches, and the depth is 11 inches.

This little cabinet is just the right size for a small corner in my bathroom. It assembles fairly easily, but the joints seem a little loose. I would recommend using wood glue in each joint, even though the instructions do not call for it.
