Linea Kitchen Island Table with Chrome Accent

I'm usually not one to write an online product review but am doing so because some of the other reviews of this product complicated my buying decision. I therefore hope my review of my experience with this product helps your buying decision.

What you see is what you get. The table is dark brown, not blackish, seems sturdy enough, and looks fine for what it is (a reasonably priced piece of functional modern furniture). Unless you pick it up and throw it, it is not going to fall apart on its own. The packaging seemed very solid...nothing was broken or missing, and there was adequate styrofoam etc to prevent dings, scrapes etc from shipping.

Because I bought two, I had the pleasure of assembling twice. From the first build I learned not to over tighten the screws in step 1 of the instructions because doing so caused the drawer to be harder (but not impossible) to close. The second build resulted in a drawer that opens and closes with much greater ease, and I sufficiently tightened the screws in step 1 after installing the drawer to ensure the table was sturdy enough.

I strongly recommend having a hex screwdriver in addition to a regular Phillips head screwdriver. The reason why is I found the included hex wrench to be a real turd to work with, which is used to attach the legs to the table top. Imagine what sort of quality disposable tool you would get with an $80 piece of furniture...yep, exactly. You won't need any other tools for assembly.

If you are good with assembling things, give yourself 30 minutes. If not, make it an hour. The instructions aren't bad but I've seen better.

At the end of the day, I am pleased with how these turned out. They are being used as small side tables on either side of a bed in a space-constrained apartment bedroom, so if you are contemplating a non-phone stand use for this table it can serve alternate purposes. The stand's height is closely aligned with that of a mattress on top of a box spring and bed frame (how most beds are set up), so I imagine Winsome thought that people might use it for this purpose.

I purchased this for use in the kitchen to hold a microwave. It comes in kit form and requires careful study of the instructions before assembly which took about an hour with some help from another person. The resulting cart is handsome and sturdy. The black, full-size microwave countertop oven that I purchased to go on top fits so well that most people think that the two, cart and the microwave, were purchased together and made for each other. The drawer works but is a little hard to pull out even after greasing the wood rails that it rides on. I won't use the drawer that much anyway.

I purchased 2 of these to use as bedside tables. I love the way they look and overall they are good quality for the price. My husband had to do some adjusting to get the drawers to slide in and out properly, but now they work great and I love them. They are small, but with the drawer and the shelf you can store lots on this stand.

PROS: Looks nice. Good quality for the price.

CONS: The color is darker than the picture shows. Need to fiddle with it to get the drawers to fit.

I bought 2 of these tables to use as night stands for a higher than normal bed w/limited space for a nightstand. Turned out to be perfect!! They are very heavy/sturdy. I put them together myself w/no problems. There were a couple of pieces that didn't seem to fit together so well, but it is completely unnoticeable. I LOVE these tables. Very classy, clean lines. The drawer is tiny. I can fit my TV remote and reading glasses..that's about it. The surface fits my lamp and phone wonderfully. I definately recommend these as a night table when you have limited space. As for a phone table..the drawer might hold pens but definately not a phone book.
