From the picture, it appears that you can sit, somewhat, upright in the chair. This is not the case, you basically lay on your back in it.
With that said, it is fairly comfortable. You can 'feel' the big chunks of foam in it, but it's not terrible.
As others have mentioned, it is a single shell chair, so do not expect to be able to easily wash it.
My biggest disappointment is with the customer service at Comfort Research. My first bean bag, did a bunch of research and looking at the product picture it seemed a good buy. The model in the picture was sitting comfortably and sitting upright. When I put in the order there were no reviews ( item was backordered). I almost forgot about it till I received an email saying that my item was shipped. I came back to the prouct page to find out 2 reviews which did not potray the product in positive light. I was still hoping it would turn out OK for me.
Well I was wrong. Let me start by giving an idea how it was shipped. The product came vacuum sealed in a a box. I had to rip open the box since the bag was pushing against the walls of the box and impossible to yank it out. They box was tied up with plastic flat tape so it held up fine.
I opened it ( see pictures uploaded) and let it expand. The filling inside is pieced up foam ( it does not seem like memory foam just regular foam). Once I fluffed it up I sat on it and.... BAM.... hit the floor. The filling does not provide enough support. I re-fluffed it to have more filling in the center but when I sat on it , there did not seem to be any back support...I just fell back. So there was no way I was going to be able to sit upright in this thing. I tried many times but failed. Finally I re-named it..... Bean Bed.
Not sure what to do with it now...my dog Whiskey seems to be eyeing it. Give it to her ....return it to Amazon...can't make up my mind. It's not small it occupied too much space in my TV room so I moved it to the living room for the time being till I figure out how to better utilize it. Whiskey still thinks it's her new bed. I am going to talk with Amazon on how to process a return if possible. The packaging is all ripped and not sure how to vacuum pack it for a return (Unless Amazon sends me a 4x4 foot box. Anyways, my search for a comfortable bean bag still is back on. Any suggestions?
Also posted some pictures to give y'all a better perspective. Good luck

I bought this for my son's bedroom. He likes it, but the picture is misleading. When you lay or sit on it, you have to keep rolling it to a shape that you feel supported. It ends up kind of flat requiring you to recline to the point you are laying down, not sitting in it as pictured. Hope that helps.Read Best Reviews of Comfort Research 4-Foot Large Fuf in Comfort Suede Here
This chair is great I don't know why all the bad reviews are on here. It is packed tightly in the box but not too hard to get out, I did rip the box open though. It comes with a paper that says right on it that it will take 7-10 days to completely fluff up to normal. I was sitting in it comfortably within 20 minutes after opening it, just had to fluff it up and get the foam separated. The material is very static like so it does get dirty with hair and things easily, that would be the only bad thing I would say about it. I have been able to sit up in it pretty well you just have to put it on its side and sit down in it. Overall it is a great chair and I got it on sale so I love it!Want Comfort Research 4-Foot Large Fuf in Comfort Suede Discount?
This is a nice big beanbag for the money, the instructions say you have to let the foam expand for 7-10 days so not sure why the one review is complaining about it being flat right out of the box. Ours has been unboxed for 2 days now and is still expanding, we're "fluffing" it every day as instructed and it's really poofing up. :)Follow up a month later This is a very large, comfy bean bag, both my 9 year olds can sit on it, and it did completely fluff up in a week's time and looks like the one in the photo she's sitting on if you pull the back up that way to "shape" it somewhat. My only complaint is no liner so you can't remove the cover to wash it like the more expensive models from the ultimate sack site. But theirs are twice the price so there you have it, get what you pay for.
