Love this piece. Looks so nice in our home office. Nicely made and not difficult to assemble. Very pleased. I would recommend this product.
It came by freight truck to our house with a call and a window of time that they were going to drop it off. Once dropped off we inspected it before the driver drove away. I would highly recommend this! If you want to return this for damage it is going to be really tough. It is a very heavy, large package. The assembly of this took about 1.5 hours by my very handy husband. The directions were clear and although they provide a small tube of wood glue I'd recommend purchasing your own Gorilla Glue to glue the dowels in. The directions give you two methods to build either right or left facing steps. The Hollow-Core means exactly that. The laminated wood veneer has a particle board center that is much lighter that typical particle board. Despite the materials used to manufacture this, it is a very sturdy piece.
We like this so much we are looking at another place in the house were we could put another one. It is just that functional and attractive.

The thin cardboard and minimal styrofoam bumpers were totally inadequate for the weight of the bookcase. It arrived with a crushed end and damaged shelves and hardware.
